Common Name
Scarlet Honey-myrtle

Description
The Scarlet Honey-myrtle is a shrub growing to 3 m tall. The grey-green leaves are narrow, growing 2 cm to 3 cm long and about 1 mm to 5 mm wide. The plant flowers in winter, spring and summer from July to December. The flowers are red, orange-red, or reddish pink and produced in bottlebrush spikes about 5 cm long. The fruit capsules are about 4 to 7 mm long.

Habitat
rocky outcrops, sandplains, along watercourses

Distribution
The Scarlet Honey-myrtle is found in south west Western Australia
