Common Name
Whitsunday Bottle Tree

Description
The Whitsunday Bottle Tree is a tree growing to 15 m tall, but usually between 4 m and 8 m. The leaves are simple tapering to a point, and grow 6 cm to 12 cm long and 3 cm to 5 cm wide. Juvenile are palm-shaped with narrow pointed fingers. The bell-shaped flowers are white with pink streaks on the petals, with 5 partially fused petals, and about 15 mm in diameter. The seed pods are brown in colour, boat-shaped, and grow about 4 cm long and 2 cm wide.

Distribution
The Whitsunday Bottle Tree is found in central eastern Queensland in the Proserpine, Airlie Beach, Whitsundays region.
