Common Name
Blacktown Callistemon

Description
Blacktown Callistemon is a shrub growing to 1.5 m tall. The leaves are flat, narrow and linear with a sharp tip growing to about 3 cm long. The flowers are red and produced in bottlebrush spikes, about 4 cm long and 5 cm to 6 cm in diameter. Flowering is mainly in spring. The fruit are woody capsules about 4 or 5 mm long. The plant is also known as Melaleuca pearsonii.

Habitat
near rivers, creeks, rocky gullies

Distribution
Blacktown Callistemon is found on the Blackdown Tableland near Rockhampton in Queensland.
