Description
The Yellow Lantern Banksia is an open shrub or small tree growing to about five metres tall. The leaves grow to about 9 cm long and about 3 cm broad and are elliptical with serrated edges. The teeth on the leaf margins are about 1 mm to 3 mm deep. The plant produces cylindrical clusters of flowers that hang downwards like lanterns. The greenish yellow flower clusters grow to about 11 cm long and 10 cm in diameter. after flowering the spikes develop into cones with up to twenty oval-shaped woody follicles.

Habitat
Shrubland and woodland

Distribution
It is found in and around the Fitzgerald River National Park between Albany and Esperance on the southern coast of Western Australia.
